Westmorland and Furness Special Educational Needs Information, Advice and Support Service (SEND IASS) is a statutory service, which is run at 'arm's length' from the Local Authority (LA). We provide free, confidential, impartial advice and guidance to support parents of children with special educational needs (SEN) and children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
We aim to help to promote good working relationships between children, young people, parents, education settings and the local authority. This then allows parents to play an active and informed role in their child’s education. SEND IASS supports parents and carers of children aged 0 to 25 years with SEND . We also directly support young people with SEND.
